I have watched Michelle’s work and career like a hawk since first seeing her work at Miller Block in Boston in 1999? And thanks for that studio visit/show visit in 2014 when you encouaged me to “pay attention to that pre-language stage of your kids.”
I am grateful for her expansive way of teaching and making, Though I know it is not conscious, she has modeled a life of someone who has more or less stayed where she is from, and remains relevant and totally part of important contemporary discourse. THANK YOU, Michelle. I also made a painting for her, showed at Devening Projects in 2023.
