Likewise, Hey Girl, Love you!
Happy Juneteenth, ways to say I love you, podcast has 7 Episodes!
I generally end conversations with friends with “I love you.” This can make some uncomfortable, but I do it anyway1. I figure, once you have told them once it feels normal from then on. Imagine my surprise recently when a friend closed our conversation with “I love you, sugar!” My reply? “Likewise.”
I am NOT a likewise kinda girl. Many of my friends are “likewise” people. That’s OK. It takes all of us right now. In the spirit of taking all kinds, I began recording conversations for Visual Quitter. It is a way of saying “likewise,” a way of loving and learning to listen better, and sharing artists whose work I deeply admire.
I am grateful for the time and transparency the artists have brought to the questions so far (7 Episodes and 12 in the can!). Artists have such deep commitment to their craft, their families, their communities. I hope these short answers to my two questions might help with the insane anxiety we live under.
Happy Juneteenth, Hey Girl Hey, Likewise, I Love you, and Hey DJ,
Jo
PS: Stay Tuned for a series of conversations (like the one I had with Benjy at Tinney) hosted by David Lusk Gallery in the coming months.

I published a love letter, to an art school, for Pete’s sake. It reads as earnest and tender as we all felt that year (and this year).
Hi hi! Not sure if it's just for subscribers, but if it's not, the love letter link goes to a locked Google doc.
Love you! :D
